China Mathematical Society (CMS) was established in Shanghai in July 1935. At the time of establishment, the organization included Board of Directors, the council and senate. The members of CMS are Tun-fu HU (胡敦复), Zuxun FENG (冯祖荀), Meiquan ZHOU (周美权), Lifu JIANG（姜立夫）, King-Lai HIONG（熊庆来）, Kike-Kwong CHEN (陈建功), Buchin SU（苏步青）, Tsai-han KIANG (江泽涵), Baocong QIAN （钱宝琮）, Zhongsun FU （傅种孙）, etc. The Academic journals they published were Journal of Chinese Mathematical Society and Journal of Mathematics. (The name of the Journal of Chinese Mathematical Society was changed to Acta Mathematica Sinica (数学学报) in1952 and Mathematical Journal was changed to Mathematical Bulletin （数学通报）in 1953)
After the establishment of the CMS, the site was the Science Society of China, NO.533, Shaanxi Ya Er Pei Road (now Shaanxi South Road). Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, until 1998, the site of CMS was the Institute of Mathematics of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Since 1999, the site of the Chinese Mathematical Society has been changed to Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. (The Institute of Mathematics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is one of the Institute).

Professor Hua Loo-Keng is a famous Chinese mathematician and loves his motherland deeply. He devoted into the scientific career, and made an outstanding contribution to the Chinese mathematical career and talents cultivation for all his life.
As a Chinese American mathematician, a foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Shiing Shen Chern is a worldwide math master. He made outstanding contributions to the development of mathematics.
Professor Jiaqing ZHONG was very concerned about the development of the mathematics of the motherland during his lifetime and worked hard for it. He has said that the development of mathematics depends on the active cultivation and selection of outstanding young mathematicians.
